Cross Country 2015

During a Cloudy day on Thursday Miss Mules had given us jobs to do for the Cross Country Race, We quickly got changed into our PE gear and I raced down to Mr Gu's office to get the portable speaker for the music.

We set up the gazebo and got the music ready to play while the classes started to walk up the hill, we had the placing cards in our hands and the vivid's were ready to us.

As Sila gathered the 8 year old girls, I was feeling sick in the stomach, The 8 year old girls were warming up with Tukala and Sebastian, they lined up and got ready to run, I saw nervous faces and girls that were worried, the horn blew and the girls ran like fast bullets,

Finally the first girl finished we gave her the first placing card and it carried on until 10 th place, I could see some disappointed faces as some girls walked back to their classes.

Immersion in Room 14

Immersion in Room 14 was experiencing and fun , we watched a little clip and we learnt on how plants grow we got split into 5 groups and then we all took turn planting our own mustard seed plants, I learned that when a plant germinates it needs soil, water and sunshine, water is a plants drink you need to feed your plants everyday, and also when a plant has fully developed it will be able to produce fruit or vegetables.

Polyfest 2015

It was a cold yet Sunny Saturday last week when all the Pacific Islanders and Diversity gathered together and made the Number 1 Festival in Auckland, It was held at the Manukau Sports Bowl.

When my family and I got there we saw a lot of people and we heard cans sounding, drums beating, we walked to the the Samoan Stage and it was full of people.

Luckily we found a good spot, right in the middle,
It was so exciting to see some ex students from Holy Cross

When it was time for Avondale (the Overall Winners for 9 years in a row) The first people I see was Coretti, Phillimayna, and Hope, and My Beautiful Sister Danielle
She looked like a Samoan Princess, I was happy and so grateful to have a sister like her.

After Avondale performed I was going like crazy,
I was really proud of my older sister because of her beautiful dance, she was the Queen of the Samoan Stage.

It was time for prize giving and I was really nervous yet excited to hear about the results,
For Co-Ed schools 3rd place was Avondale College, I was really sad but at the same time I was happy they came a place
2nd place was Manurewa College and 1st place for the Co-Ed category was Mangere College.

I was really happy to be there at Auckland's Number 1 Pacific Islander and Diversity Festival.

Softball Tournament !!!!!!!

Last Week on Tuesday we had our Softball Tournament at Brains Park in Kelston.

Early in the morning we set up our gazebo and practiced  Then a teacher from Kelston Intermediate called us up to their gazebo and told us all the rules and the boundaries.

We had 10 more minutes to  get ready for our game, our first opponents were BBI , as we took our position I was feeling sick in the stomach, but we were well on our way

Later on that Evening we were going to fight for Third place our last opponents were Range view Intermediate,We were getting ready to play then suddenly the bell rang and started to play.

As we finished the game we congratulated Range view and Holy Cross came third place out of the whole competition and out of 15 schools, now that was a day to remember.
